About the role

At Brisbane Independent School, our Teacher Aides are an integral part of the educational team. You will remain in one classroom Basecamp for the year, working closely with the teacher and students to build strong, trusting relationships, which areessential for both learning and behaviour support.

We currently have multiple opportunities available (full time, part time and casual) to join our close-knit school community with some positions starting 
ASAP and some in Term 4.

Key elements of the role:

  • 7-hour school day (no unpaid breaks)
  • Assigned to one classroom only, supporting a specific age cohort
  • Deeply involved in daily teaching and learning through a developmental and relationship-based lens
  • Encouraged and supported to build respectful relationships with students, families and colleagues
  • Participation in school community events (Working Bees, End of Term concerts, etc.)
  • Opportunities to work across a variety of tasks as required by the Principal and teaching team

You will be trained in our philosophy and practices and encouraged to grow professionally in a supportive and collaborative workplace.

About the business

Brisbane Independent School (BiS) is Queensland's oldest progressive school (est. 1967), based in leafy Pullenvale. With small multi-age classes and a play-based, inquiry learning approach, we place children and relationships at the heart of everything we do.
