What is the role 

Monday to Friday, 7.6 hours per day, with paid on-call duties; three days on-site at Viva Docklands (client), two days at Melbourne office or WFH.

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network solutions across client environments. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise networking, security, and infrastructure, and plays a key part in mentoring junior engineers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring high availability and performance of client systems.

This position works closely with other members of the Service Delivery team to ensure client environments are supported and maintained to required standards and SLAs are met.

Key responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Provide remote and onsite IT support for client environments
  • Design, configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade network and hardware systems
  • Build and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructures
  • Implement and manage firewalls and security protocols
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and network issues
  • Collaborate with clients to gather and understand technical requirements
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and security
  • Recommend and support technology solutions for projects
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and design specs
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor for junior team members
  • Monitor logs, respond to incidents, and meet SLA targets
  • Liaise with vendors and ensure systems meet configuration standards
  • Continuously improve and automate technical procedures
  • Stay current with technologies through training and self-learning
  • Accurately log daily activities and participate in on-call rotations
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Who we are looking for 

Successful candidate must possess:

  • 5+ years in enterprise networking
  • CCIE certified (Routing & Switching, Enterprise Infra, or Security)
  • CCNA/CCNP minimum with CCIE preferred
  • Must have experience in VeloCloud 
  • Skilled in routing, switching, firewalls, and network architecture
  • Knowledgeable in network security and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Proficient with monitoring and automation tools
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Client-focused, adaptable, and eager to learn
  • Degree in IT or related field
