Overview:

We're excited to be exclusively recruiting for an experienced
Technical Project Manager
to join a premier renewable energy developer delivering one of the most significant generation and storage projects in the Western Australian market (WEM).

This role will provide technical, commercial, and project management leadership across the development and early-stage delivery of a landmark hybrid project combining utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and grid infrastructure. The successful candidate will operate as an independent contractor on an initial 18-month engagement, with strong potential to transition into a
permanent role
as the project progresses toward construction.

Key Responsibilities
:

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Establish and maintain the
    project schedule
    , ensuring design, procurement, and construction milestones are aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Provide
    hands-on leadership
    across all technical disciplines, driving coordination between engineering consultants, EPC partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage
    site-specific investigations
    , including geotechnical, environmental, and constructability assessments, to inform design and risk management decisions.

EPC Strategy & Contract Management

  • Develop and implement a
    procurement and contracting strategy
    that optimises cost, schedule, and risk allocation - including the potential for an
    ECI (Early Contractor Involvement)
    phase.
  • Prepare and coordinate detailed
    tender documentation
    , manage bidder clarifications, and oversee evaluation and negotiation through to award.

Technology & OEM Engagement

  • Lead engagement with
    OEM technology suppliers
    for BESS, PV modules, and tracker systems - assessing suitability across performance, warranty, and bankability criteria.
  • Evaluate proposals and facilitate contract negotiation to ensure optimal alignment between technology partners and EPC scope.
  • Contribute to the project's
    O&M strategy
    , ensuring long-term asset performance and maintainability are embedded in design.

Grid Connection & Network Interface

  • Oversee all aspects of the
    grid connection process
    , including interaction with Western Power and AEMO.
  • Manage the
    grid connection schedule
    , deliverables, and associated modelling work (GPS, dynamic studies, etc.).
  • Review and negotiate key
    connection and access agreements
    , including Asset Transfer, Interconnection Works, and ETACs.

About you
:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Electrical Engineering
    or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience
    managing large-scale renewable energy or grid-connected infrastructure projects (solar, wind, or BESS).
  • Proven track record in
    project delivery, EPC interface management
    , and
    contract negotiation
    .
  • Deep understanding of
    grid connection processes
    and familiarity with Western Power / WEM regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience engaging with
    OEM suppliers, consultants, and TNSPs
    .
  • Must hold
    ABN registration and GST
    capability for contracting purposes.
