As we prepare for upcoming opportunities in 2026, we are inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Policy Officers who are seeking non-ongoing, ongoing, or contract roles within the Federal Government.

The Role

You will provide policy advice and guidance for our government clients. This is a pivotal role that requires professionalism, discretion, and an exceptional eye for detail.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare quality policy advice that aligns with department strategic objectives
  • Prepare briefing documents including question time briefs, senate estimates briefs, media releases and ministerial submissions
  • Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the development of informed, strategic policy advice

About You

You are highly organised, proactive, and thrive in fast-paced environments where confidentiality and precision matter.

You will bring:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Have strong research, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholder groups
  • Be able to produce high quality and timely policy advice
  • High level of organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines

Essential Requirements

To be considered for Federal Government opportunities, you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Be willing to undergo a National Police Check and obtain at minimum a Baseline Security Clearance

Desirable Requirements

  • Preference is for candidates to be based in Canberra and surrounding regions
