About the role

Smallmon Brothers Waste is seeking a full-time Waste Collection Truck Driver to join our team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe collection of residential and commercial waste across the region. The role involves operating a commercial waste collection vehicle and providing excellent customer service to our clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operating a commercial waste collection vehicle and adhering to all road rules and safety procedures
  • Collecting and transporting waste and recyclables from residential and commercial properties
  • Providing outstanding customer service to clients and responding to any queries or concerns
  • Performing daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
  • Accurately documenting collection activities and maintaining detailed records
  • Supporting the wider waste management operations as required

What we're looking for

  • A current Australian driver's licence (minimum HR class preferred)
  • Experience operating a commercial waste collection vehicle (although, thorough training will be provided) or similar heavy vehicles
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures
  • A commitment to safety and a demonstrated history of safe driving practices
  • Understanding of NHVR fatigue laws
