About the role

MAXAM is seeking to employ a Field Operator to join our well-established crew, based in Avenel, VIC.

The role of Field Operator fundamentally contributes to the success of the blast crew on site. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of day to day blasting services, loading and stemming of drill holes. The role can be physically demanding, working in various extreme weather conditions.

About the successful applicant

To be successful in the role you must be highly motivated with a keen eye for detail and a positive attitude towards safety, training and the environment.

It will be looked upon favorably if you have a mechanical background and have the ability to troubleshoot. Prior blasting experience and qualifications is preferred but not essential.

Ideally you will hold current licenses in the following:

  • Open Driver's License
  • Explosives Security Clearance (desirable but not essential)

Due to the nature of the role the successful applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening) and be able to obtain and maintain relevant clearances such as a National Police Clearance.

Please note this is a residential role that suits an entry level, young person who is willing to join the industry.
