Our Opportunity
Work Location: Hedland Operations- Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 7 days on/ 7 days off- FIFO from Perth or Residentially in Port Hedland

Fortescue is looking for an experienced Fire Systems Electrical Technician to join our supportive team in Port Hedland. With an even-time roster and flexibility for either FIFO or residential options, this role is well-suited to those wanting balance between work, life, and family.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our people and operations safe. Every day will bring something different as you work across critical fire systems and electrical equipment, ensuring they're reliable, compliant, and ready when needed.
- Maintain & Record: Keep accurate service records and databases to the highest standard.
- Plan & Coordinate: Work with a supportive team to schedule and complete maintenance with minimal downtime.
- Knowledge Sharing: Support and upskill your teammates, ensuring strong coverage and collaboration across the team.
- Site Audits: Regularly check systems to identify risks and maintain safety excellence.
- Reporting: Provide clear, useful reports so everyone has the information they need.
- Problem Solving: Quickly troubleshoot and resolve faults with confidence.
- Continuous Improvement: Bring forward your ideas for upgrades, innovations, and smarter ways of working.
Qualifications and Experience
You'll bring strong technical know-how, but just as importantly, a proactive mindset, teamwork, and the ability to adapt and learn. We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience testing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems (AS
- Hands-on capability across pumps, sprinklers, extinguishers, hydrants, and hose reels.
- Certificate II in Fire Asset Management or equivalent license.
- Confidence with documentation, reporting, and MS Office (SAP experience a bonus).
- Familiarity with fire detection panels and ideally gaseous suppression systems.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety.
