At Protection Engineering, we provide essential fire protection services across Western Australia – from fire detection and suppression systems to emergency response training and evacuation planning. We are expanding our team and are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Technician with proven experience in the fire protection industry.
About the Role
As a Fire Technician, you'll be on the front line of fire safety. This role involves carrying out installation, testing, and maintenance of fire systems and equipment across commercial, industrial, and government facilities. You'll work closely with our project managers, A-Grade electricians, and other team members to ensure our clients' sites remain compliant and safe.

Roles & Responsibilities
· Inspect, test, maintain and repair fire detection, suppression and alarm systems to AS1851:2012.
· Service extinguishers, hydrants, pumps, sprinklers, hose reels, emergency lighting and special hazards systems.
· Complete logbooks, service reports and compliance documentation accurately (photos + defect classification).
· Assist with fault‑finding, rectification and upgrades; uphold WHS on every site.
What success looks like (first 90 days)
· Your reports are clean, compliant and help clients approve works without delays.
· You're closing corrective actions promptly and communicating proactively with PMs and clients.
· You've completed our internal playbooks and are trusted on critical sites.
What you'll require
· years as a Fire Technician (preferred).
· WA Driver's License: FPAS accreditation is highly regarded.
· Strong working knowledge of AS1851:2012 and related standards.
· Practical problem‑solver with professional, client‑facing communication.
