Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Davidson Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a large Federal Government Agency to secure multiple Infrastructure Engineers to perform and achieve network design and network planning work on initial 12-month contract with the option of 2 x 12-month extensions.

About the Role

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and compliance of departmental networking environments by contributing to the investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network issues while advising on preventative strategies. The role encompasses managing support requests in alignment with organisational policies and standards, as well as designing and implementing network changes and maintenance routines to optimise reliability and efficiency. Leveraging strong technical expertise, the engineer applies knowledge of data, voice, and audio networking technologies to maximise capability, while investigating problems to identify effective solutions, alternative courses of action, and mitigation strategies. In addition, the position requires flexibility to undertake a range of network engineering tasks within the APS level, supporting the broader objectives of the business area.

These roles are suitable to APS 6 equivalent Network Engineers with NV2 and TSPV security clearance only.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll possess a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields, bring strong expertise in network security, enterprise proxy, load balancing systems, and diverse architectures. You'll be skilled in deploying and maintaining network systems and excel in systems design (DESN L4) by creating detailed design specifications, modelling and prototyping system components, and evaluating design trade-offs to meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Your infrastructure operations (ITOP L4) capabilities include maintaining and optimising technology infrastructure, leveraging automation tools, configuring scripts, and ensuring compliance with security policies while monitoring load, performance, and security metrics. In network support (NTAS L4), you'll apply technical expertise to diagnose, resolve, and prevent operational and security issues, automate network tasks, and prepare reports and proposals to enhance network resilience. With proficiency in network design (NTDS L4), you'll translate logical to physical designs, validate them against performance and security requirements, and contribute to contingency planning, recovery routines, and alternative architecture development. This combination of technical breadth and applied expertise enables you to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure solutions aligned to organisational goals.

The Benefits

You will be offered a 12-month contract with the option of 2 x 12-month extensions on an excellent daily rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment.
