Merlina's Restaurant & Cafe is looking for a Qualified Chef / Experience Chef to join their team. Merlina's is located on the Hedges Ave, Mermaid Beach. Overlooking the sand and blue ocean you will be part of the best Surf Club on the Gold Coast "Mermaid Beach SLSC"  

The applicant must have a proven record as a Qualified Chef. Services which include Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. You will have the skill and speed of a Sous or Head Chef and the passion of a Opera Singer, a professional that makes the job look easy not hard.

Merlina's is a 140 seater Restaurant offering premium customer service with amazing food, we have a history spanning more than 75 years and have won the most prestigious award "Australian Surf Club of The Year 2015 & 2022". We are the only Club in Australia to win this award twice.

About You:-

To join our team you will have a proven track record working in busy kitchens within a high volume casual dining environment. You will have more than 5 years experience with restaurant / cafe including breakfast service and a proven track record delivering CONSISTENT high quality dishes. You will be creative and have a genuine passion for exceptional clean food.

To be eligible you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents. Have a positive attitude with a passion for cooking. A willingness to grow with the team and have good organization skills. Definitely NO Pre-Madonna's here, we have a close knit team and no room for ego's. We must remember this industry is not getting any easier and we must surround ourselves with the right team and Business.

To be suitable for this position the candidate will posses the following attributes :-

- Must be trade qualified in Cert III Commercial Cookery

- Cool under pressure and excited by a challenging fast paced environment

- To lead by example and be very hands on

- Willing to work weekends, nights and public holidays

- Strong level of attention to detail and consistency

- Ability to bring the best out of your team and apprentices

- Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP

- Maintaining hygiene in the kitchen

- COMMON SENSE
