About The Role
As
Manager, Line 1 Risk, Data Risk
you will play a pivotal role in embedding and enhancing data risk management practices across the BOQ Group Divisions. Reporting into the Senior Manager Line 1 Risk Data, this role supports the implementation of BOQ Group's Risk Management Strategy and standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and fostering a proactive risk culture.

You'll work closely with Business Unit leaders, Line 2 and Line 3 to provide pragmatic risk advice, design and uplift controls, and deliver insights that support informed decision-making. This role is instrumental in strengthening the control environment, managing risk profiles, and leading risk-in-change assessments. You'll also contribute to governance activities, support training initiatives, and lead the implementation of remedial actions through BOQ Group's Program rQ.

This is a leadership opportunity to mentor Risk Analysts and collaborate across the three lines of defence to deliver best-practice risk management outcomes.

About You

You bring a strong understanding of non-financial risk and regulatory environments, and have a proven track record in developing and implementing risk frameworks. Recent experience with AI will be highly regarded.

Your analytical mindset, attention to detail, and logical reasoning skills enable you to identify threats, diagnose issues, and recommend effective solutions. You're confident in performing root cause analysis, control gap assessments, and simplifying complex processes.

You're a clear communicator with exceptional written and verbal skills, capable of articulating risk insights to diverse stakeholders. Your project management capabilities and ability to lead and mentor others make you a trusted advisor and team leader.

A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field is essential, and professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CDMP or CPA will be highly regarded. Your expertise in Data Management, Cybersecurity and Technology will be crucial for this role.
