Job Summary:
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees based in Australia. This role requires a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, tax obligations, and superannuation requirements. The analyst will collaborate with the People Team, Finance, and external vendors to ensure compliance and deliver a high-quality payroll service, while also driving continuous improvement across payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process end-to-end payroll for Australian employees in compliance with Fair Work Act, ATO regulations, and superannuation laws.
· Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
· Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
· Liaise with external payroll providers and government agencies.
· Respond to employee queries regarding pay, tax, and leave entitlements.
· Support audits and reporting requirements.
· Support benefits administration processes; including enrolment, changes etc.
· Safeguard payroll transactions by maintaining strict confidentiality with all payroll data including personal or sensitive employee information.
· Ensuring that internal controls and standards are complied with for all payroll processes
· Provide contingency support for other Payroll locations (eg. Singapore, Korea)
· Identify opportunities to streamline payroll operations and enhance service delivery.
· Collaborate cross-functionally to implement system or policy changes impacting payroll.
· Participant in OR lead payroll-related projects focused on process improvement, automation, and compliance.
· Support ad hoc projects / duties as required to support the wider Payroll or People Operations Teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Australian payroll processing.
· Bachelor's degree in accounting / finance or equivalent combination of training and experience
· Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and payroll tax.
· Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar).
· High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Highly organized and capable of working under time constraints to meet tight deadlines.
· Proven ability to manage or contribute to projects and change initiatives.
