Library Support Officer

Australian International Academy of Education Inc. (AIAE Inc./AIA), established in 1983, is an independent, progressive, co-educational school with four campuses across Melbourne. The Library Support Officer provides assistance in the daily operations of the school library. The role supports students and staff in accessing resources, ensures the library environment is welcoming and organised, and contributes to the promotion of literacy, research skills, and a love of reading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the circulation of library resources, including loans, returns, and reservations.
  • Support students and staff in locating and using library materials, technology, and online databases.
  • Maintain library collections by processing, cataloguing, shelving, and weeding resources as directed.
  • Ensure the library environment is safe, tidy, and conducive to learning.
  • Assist in the preparation of displays, reading programs, and literacy initiatives.
  • Provide basic IT and printing support to students and staff within the library.
  • Monitor student behaviour in the library, promoting respectful use of resources and spaces.
  • Support the Librarian with administrative and clerical duties.
  • Contribute to the effective use of digital library systems and software.
  • Undertake other duties as directed, consistent with the role.

· Ensure all images and content created respect child safety and privacy requirements and follow the Academy's privacy guidelines.
