We have an important opportunity for impacted landowners and stakeholder representatives to join the Wagga to Ladysmith Rail Trail Steering Committee.

The Committee has been established to provide strategic direction, oversight, and advice for the development of the proposed Wagga Wagga to Ladysmith Rail Trail. The Committee will ensure alignment with the NSW Rail Trails Framework, Council resolutions, and regional priorities, while providing an avenue for broad community input and a forum for communication and consultation between landowners, the community, Council, and government representatives.

Duties of this position will include but are not limited to

  • Providing landowner perspectives and input into feasibility assessments, alignment options, and project impacts.
  • Engaging constructively in discussions to ensure risks, opportunities, and community concerns are addressed.
  • Supporting the development of strategies to maintain positive relationships with impacted landowners and stakeholders.

What you will need to succeed

  • Experience as a landowner or representative of land directly impacted by the proposed rail trail corridor.
  • Ability to represent the views of other landowners respectfully and constructively.
  • Willingness to share knowledge of local land use, farming and property management considerations
  • Commitment to working to work collaboratively with other committee members and stakeholders.
