The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join James Hardie on a 13-month contract.
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, this role will provide financial accounting support & services to effectively meet the business growth strategy through improving the overall performance of our accounting systems, processes, and outputs.
What you'll do
- Completion of the month end process for ANZ entities
- Completion of Head office (USA) reporting
- Completion of SOX control tasks
- On time completion of balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining integrity of the General Ledger
- Fixed assets management (SAP Project System, CAPEX project maintenance, capitalisations, disposals, queries and reports)
- Preparing annual statutory accounts
- Involvement in both internal & external audit process
- Ensure company policies and SOX controls are maintained
- Perform high level analysis on profit and loss and identify areas of improvement
- Develop in-depth understanding of results and provide input and analysis of monthly reporting packs and meetings
- Assist in the preparation of technical position papers with respect to accounting standards
- Continuously identify process improvement opportunities
- Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years' post qualification experience
- Previous experience in the Big Four is strongly desirable
- Strong technical knowledge including IFRS, USGAAP and exposure to consolidation accounting is preferable
- SAP knowledge and experience
- Intermediate to advance Excel skills (Lookups, Pivot Table)
- Ability to analyse and solve complex problems
