The Royal Automobile Club of Australia (RACA), incorporating Imperial Service Club

is a prestigious members club, founded in 1903 that has since retained its enthusiasm for all things auto. The clubhouse is an eight-storey, grand, state heritage-listed building adjacent to Circular Quay at 89 Macquarie Street in Sydney, New South Wales.

About the Role

As a Reception, Hotel Front Office Administration in our Front Office Team, attention to detail and commitment to the customer experience is vital to ensure that all of our guests are treated as VIPs. This position is responsible for responding to housekeeping and engineering requests, In-room dining orders, Front Office enquiries (i.e.: late check out, wake up calls, reservations enquiries, directions to hotel), as well as other administrative communications duties. You will efficiently and professionally answer any guest/ customer questions regarding hotel, in-house facilities, and local events. All our Front Office team members showcase a proactive 'Yes I Can' attitude and you will be provided adequate training to align with our 5-star standards.

Flexibility with the roster will be required, key days required to cover Wednesday and Thursday morning each week, and often flexibility to work Tuesday or Friday - sometimes afternoon or evening shifts, on occasion weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster.

Our rates are as per the Hospitality Industry General Award - Receptionist – Level 2 (Day shift) or Level 3 (Night shift) depending on skillset.

Please see current base rates below: starting salary outlined below is for Level 2 (as per the Casual Award rates)

  • Monday - Friday: $32.21
  • Saturday: $38.78
  • Sunday: $45.24
  • Public holidays - $64.63 * Additional penalty rates apply for hours worked Monday - Friday between 7pm - 7am and all hours worked on Public Holidays.

About You

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Previous experience in a medium to large hotel or private Club.
  • English language fluency written and verbal
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications (Microsoft)
  • NorthStar experience would be ideal, or other Hotel CRM programs
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices, administration experience, able to respond to emails and greet clients, and speak on the phone confidently to make bookings and work unsupervised
  • Manage the CCTV and monitor activity within the Club.
  • Outgoing and positive, yet professional and helpful attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and offer seamless service to our members and guests.

  • A willingness to be flexible with being allocated to other tasks as required, and working within a team to deliver excellence.
  • Provide superior levels of service and always smile and be polite.
  • Availability to work seven days including weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster issued by the Front Office Supervisor.
  • Professional verbal guest communication skills and personal presentation.
