Chatsworth House Pastoral is a family business that operates two properties in Western Victoria. The home property, Chatsworth House (2,700 ha), focuses on prime lamb production, angus breeding and cattle trading. Ellerslie (323 ha) near Byaduk complements this with cattle trading and finishing lambs.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and capable Farm Hand to be based at Chatsworth House.   This full-time role supports the day-to-day livestock and pasture operations across the property, working closely with the Farm Overseer and Farm Owners. You'll be part of a small, dedicated team in a hands-on role that values low-stress stock handling, grazing management, good communication, learning and a can-do attitude.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting with all livestock and pasture activities
  • Carrying out general property and infrastructure maintenance
  • Contributing to staff meetings and maintaining accurate records
  • Upholding animal welfare, WHS and low-stress stock handling standards
  • Contributing to a respectful team culture, communicating clearly and constructively.

What we're looking for

  • Calm, capable and safety-minded person, with good livestock handling skills
  • Previous experience with sheep or cattle
  • Working dogs (preferred) and the ability to operate machinery and equipment safely
  • Strong attention to detail and a pride in a tidy, well-maintained workplace
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with good computer literacy
