This is a unique opportunity to work afternoon and weekend shifts only - ideal for those seeking flexible hours or studying part-time.
As a Youth Worker, you will provide safe, nurturing, and supportive care for children and young people in our residential settings. You'll act as a positive role model and help young people develop essential life skills and build confidence.
Key ResponsibilitiesBuild safe, trusting relationships with children and young people through active engagement.
Be a positive adult role model and encourage involvement in meaningful activities.
Promote positive relationships with family members, peers, and support networks.
Support family visits and connection where appropriate.
Empower young people to actively participate in decisions about their daily lives and activities.
To be considered for paid employment as a Youth Worker in Queensland, you must:
Have completed (or be actively working toward) a relevant qualification – minimum Certificate IV. Not sure if your qualification is eligible? Check:
Hold an Unrestricted Driver's Licence (essential)
Hold or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid & CPR certificate
Be committed to child safety, trauma-informed practice, and inclusion
If successful, here's what the onboarding process looks like:
Interview – In person or via Microsoft Teams
Reference Checks – Focused on working with children and young people
National Police Check – Paid for by LWB
Blue Card – Apply if you don't already hold one
Hope & Healing Training – If successful we will set you up an account. Must be completed prior to commencement
