Nurse Unit Manager Stradbroke Ward

Your new role:

We are seeking a dynamic nursing leader to manage Stradbroke Ward, a 34-bed medical and surgical unit providing care in specialties including general surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general medicine, and palliative care. As Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable for delivering safe, high-quality patient care while overseeing people, budget, and operational management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide advanced clinical leadership and direction to achieve high-quality, person-centred care.
• Lead and manage a team of over 38 FTE nursing and support staff, ensuring effective resource allocation and workforce planning.
• Drive quality improvement, risk management, and adherence to clinical governance frameworks.

About you:

We're looking for a collaborative, resilient leader with a passion for excellence in clinical care and team development.

You will bring:

• Proven experience leading surgical/medical units, including HR, rostering, and budget management.
• Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in surgical and medical nursing, with demonstrated problem-solving expertise.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to inspire, mentor, and build team cohesion.
