The Martech Lead will act as the solution and platform owner for AEP, overseeing the design, build, QA, and deployment of customer journeys. The role will collaborate closely with marketing, compliance, campaign managers, and developers to ensure end-to-end delivery meets program milestones, governance standards, and scalability needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the AEP/AJO marketing communication workstream, ensuring on-time delivery of personalized journeys via email and SMS.
  • Manage and mentor squads of campaign managers and outbound channel builders across design, build, and QA activities.
  • Own and drive delivery governance, risk mitigation, and milestone alignment for the FY25 transformation roadmap.
  • Coordinate intake and execution of approved communications, imagery, and content assets from marketing and compliance.
  • Establish scalable ways of working across squads and vendors to improve velocity and reduce delivery risk.
  • Report progress, blockers, and delivery metrics to program leadership and senior marketing stakeholders.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Platform Governance: Act as the AEP/AJO solution owner, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, data models, and customer experience goals.
  • Journey Orchestration: Review and guide the technical setup of AJO journeys including audience logic, personalization rules, and channel orchestration.
  • Data Strategy: Support RT-CDP configurations including schema definition, identity resolution, and segment activation.
  • QA & Validation: Oversee journey testing processes, including data proofing, delivery simulation, UAT coordination, and rollback readiness.
  • Build Oversight: Define and enforce configuration standards for campaigns, ensuring reusable, scalable, and compliant build patterns.
  • Channel Integration: Manage integration of AJO with email/SMS platforms and late-stage owned channels; ensure fallback and retry logic is in place.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Establish dashboards and performance monitors for journey delivery and engagement; lead continuous improvement.
  • Environment & Release Management: Oversee multi-environment usage, journey promotion, change control, and incident handling.
  • Risk & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify technical issues, risks, or gaps—and coordinate across squads to resolve them quickly.
  • Capability Uplift: Coach teams on AEP/AJO functionality and embed playbooks and standards into squad workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 12 years of Martech experience, with 5 years leading Adobe Experience Cloud (especially AEP and AJO) implementations.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end campaign and journey management across email and SMS.
  • Strong grasp of data governance, identity resolution, and customer profile activation within AEP.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and agile squads, ensuring delivery and quality at scale.
  • Experience in banking or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Expertise in agile delivery frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe), with proficiency in Jira or similar tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills.
