The Role
The Principal Consultant - Sustainability is a senior advisor within TSA Riley's ESG team, supporting the General Manager ESG (ANZ) to grow the capability, impact, and reputation of sustainability services across APAC.
This role leads sustainability reporting, decarbonisation, and transition planning, delivering actionable insights aligned with global frameworks and Australian standards. With deep expertise in sustainability solutions within the built environment this role has a unique opportunity to shape and enhance service delivery, expand offerings, and build team capability to help clients achieve measurable outcomes and long-term value.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Client Excellence
- Lead sustainability projects with a focus on quality and client impact.
- Drive TSA Riley's sustainability reporting and disclosure capabilities aligned with emerging standards.
- Provide expert advice on climate risk, carbon, and circularity.
- Enhance sustainability delivery to maximise client outcomes.
Growth & Market Development
- Support sustainability strategy development and lead initiatives aligned with technical expertise.
- Expand sustainability services through client relationships and cross-sector collaboration.
- Contribute to bids and strategic pursuits, advancing decarbonisation offerings.
- Elevate TSA Riley's market presence through thought leadership and industry engagement.
Capability Building & Team Development
- Build internal and client capability for measurable sustainability outcomes.
- Mentor sustainability consultants and foster innovation and best practice.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to strengthen delivery.
Strategic Alignment & Support
- Contribute to climate and nature services, applying climate risk expertise.
- Provide market insights to guide sustainability service development.
- Support alignment of sustainability initiatives with broader business goals.
- Participate in leadership forums to shape TSA Riley's sustainability direction.
About You
You're a commercially savvy sustainability leader with a passion for driving sustainable outcomes within the built environment. Required Skills and Proficiencies
- 20+ years' experience in sustainability, climate transition, sustainability consulting, or related disciplines.
- Deep expertise in the built environment or similar asset classes.
- Proven capability in sustainability reporting, disclosure frameworks, including familiarity with ASRS (Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards), ISSB, TCFD, and other global frameworks.
- Strong commercial understanding of Sustainability market dynamics and opportunities.
- Experience guiding teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to build client relationships, win work, and deliver impactful outcomes.
- Skilled in coaching and developing teams to lift capability and embed best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience representing organisations at senior forums or industry events.
- Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working in dynamic and evolving markets, with a track record of driving change and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
