Casual Catering Assistants

Christian Homes Tasmania Ltd. are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated Catering Assistants with a passion for working with the elderly to join our teams at our Snug Village in Snug Tasmania and Hawthorn Village in Blackmans Bay Tasmania.

The successful Catering Assistant candidates will demonstrate:

  • Experience as a Catering Assistant in an aged care setting is preferred.
  • Treat residents with dignity and respect and supporting them to maintain their identity.
  • Supporting residents with respect to their independence and making informed choices about their care, services, including food and beverage choices, and living the life they choose.
  • Contributing to resident care that is safe and effective and meets their needs goals and preferences to optimise their health, well-being, independence and quality of life.
  • Engage with residents in relation to cultural needs, likes/dislikes, preferences and quality.
  • Prepare and present food in an appealing manner and to a high-quality visual standard in compliance with the Food Safety Plan.
  • Assist with the serving and delivery of food and beverages as required.
  • Wash dishes and clean kitchen and kitchenette environments in accordance with the Food Safety Program.
  • Proven high levels of adaptability and flexibility including the ability to deal with change.
  • A high level of organisational and prioritising skills and the ability to multitask.
  • A commitment to quality continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Essential requirements of the positions are:

  • Previous experience as a Catering Assistant working in the health sector preferable.
  • An approved NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or a willingness to undertake one.
  • Valid Australian Work Entitlements.
