About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at S M Accountants and Associates' in Glenroy, Victoria. This is a full-time role where you will play a key part in providing high-quality taxation and accounting services to our diverse range of clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and lodging tax returns for individual and business clients
  • Providing tax planning advice and recommendations to minimise tax liabilities
  • Managing client accounts, including bookkeeping, invoicing and payroll
  • Conducting financial analysis and reporting to support client decision-making
  • Liaising with clients to understand their financial needs and objectives
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and regulations
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our accounting processes and systems

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA or undertaking qualification is prefered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar accounting or taxation role
  • Strong technical skills in taxation, accounting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Proficient with accounting softwares, particularly Xero and Microsoft Office suite
