What you will be doing:
  • Manage and coordinate all meeting and diary appointments for the Assistant Director-General ensuring a flexible approach is exercised when priorities arise.
  • Ensure the Assistant Director-General is comprehensively briefed, prepared and supported for meetings or diary appointments by collating meeting papers and briefs.
  • Undertake research and collate detailed information to prepare the Assistant Director-General for high level meetings and forums held intrastate or interstate.
  • Keep abreast of current issues which may impact on Housing and Homelessness Services and report findings to the Assistant Director-General.
  • Review and manage work priorities and deadlines daily within the office.
  • Manage and respond to emails on behalf of the Assistant Director-General, Manager and Principal Executive Officer within the office.
  • Screen incoming calls and effectively manage queries and redirect calls to relevant business area.
  • Quality check correspondence, submissions, briefing notes and reports and provide advice to business areas where change/clarification is required.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships within service areas of the department, other State Government agencies and external stakeholders to enable consultation, liaison and negotiation of priorities.
  • Contribute at a high-level to a culture of client service, excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations
