Due to the growth of the Marketplace team, we have an exciting opportunity for a second Marketplace Growth Manager to join our team Reporting into the Head of Marketplace Sales, the Marketplace Growth Manager's primary focus is to execute the Kmart Marketplace strategy through targeted outreach, commercial negotiation, onboarding support, and data-driven account management strategies. This is a foundational role in the Marketplace Sales team and pivotal in shaping high-performance culture while driving the execution of the Kmart Marketplace strategy.

What you'll be doing

As our Marketplace Growth Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in scaling our marketplace by building strong relationships, driving commercial outcomes, and unlocking new opportunities for sellers and customers alike. This is a leadership role where your ability to influence, collaborate, and execute will shape the future of our marketplace.

As the Marketplace Growth Manager working for Kmart, you will be responsible but not limited to:

  • Lead the acquisition and onboarding of high-potential sellers aligned with our category strategy.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans for priority categories, identifying assortment gaps and increasing brand density.
  • Conduct competitive research and market trend analysis to inform feature prioritisation and pricing strategies.
  • Building strong seller relationships and supporting their success through data-driven account management.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as Marketplace Operations and Online Trade to ensure a seamless seller experience.
  • Driving financial performance by optimising analysing key performance metrics, adjusting seller mix, increasing GMV, and improving contribution margins.
  • Own end-to-end account management for a portfolio of marketplace sellers, from onboarding through expansion.
  • Lead regular business reviews with clients, presenting insights, roadmaps, and ROI-driven recommendations.
  • Conduct competitive research and market trend analysis to inform feature prioritisation and pricing strategies.
  • Own and execute the marketplace growth strategy to achieve and exceed revenue and performance targets.
  • Be hands-on with tools and platforms to execute campaigns, track KPIs, and troubleshoot issues in real-time.

To be successful in this role you'll have:

  • 3–5 years' experience in digital retail, eCommerce, or marketplace environments.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of marketplace platforms, CRM tools, and data analytics.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
  • Proven experience in sales and client management, with a track record of exceeding targets and building lasting relationships.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated success in driving double-digit growth in a marketplace or eCommerce environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and growth opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using data to guide decisions and optimise performance.
  • Experience in a fast-paced retail or marketplace environment, with the agility to adapt and lead through change.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor teams while also being hands-on and execution focused.
