About the Role
The Senior Adviser Adaptation will work with EPA licensees and small-medium businesses to build preparedness and resilience to climate change risks. They will provide advice and develop guidance material for internal and external stakeholders, and they will provide case by case advice and sector-based advice on climate risk management and climate adaptation planning.
The Senior Adviser Adaptation works as a member of a dedicated and professional team to provide expert advice and services, with a focus on improving awareness of hazards and building preparedness and resilience to the impacts of extreme weather and climate-driven hazards. The Senior Adviser Adaptation will work within a dynamic environment to provide guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders on site and/or neighbourhood or regional based risk assessment, climate adaptation responses and controls with respect to climate change adaptation and preparedness. The Senior Adviser Adaptation will contribute to the development, management and maintenance of specialist projects and support EPA's role in Climate Change and in executing its strategic priorities.

What the EPA Offers
The EPA recognises the importance of balance and wellbeing and offers a range of different flexible working arrangements. These include flexitime (flexible start and finish times), working from home, part time, job share, compressed weeks and purchased leave.
Essential Qualifications (for PO3 applicants only)
A recognised degree and/or post graduate qualification in civil or environmental engineering, environmental science, environmental management or other discipline transferrable to environmental and climate adaptation services.
Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge or Experience
Experience in using innovation to develop solutions to problems.
Experience in a regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of national and state environmental goals, policies and programs.
Contract
2x ongoing contracts available and full time (37.5 hours per week).
Remuneration
ASO6 ($98,478 - $104,165 per annum) or PO3 ($101,285 - $107,078 per annum) as well as 12% super to your choice of super fund.
Special Conditions
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. A current National Police Clearance is essential.
The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises.
A current driver's licence is essential.
