Our client is seeking a Media Adviser who will build and maintain the client's reputation by implementing an effective and timely media strategy that shares its story with its audiences, as well as providing issues management and communications advisory services.

Reporting to the Media Relations Manager, in this role you will:

- Develop positive news stories and media strategies, draft and manage media materials (releases, talking points, social media content), and oversee dynamic photo and video content for client's media channels.
- Organize and manage media events, maintain effective media relationships, and contribute to proactive media planning.
- Perform media monitoring, identify potential issues, and work on strategies to mitigate negative coverage and manage public communication responses.
- Handle administrative tasks such as media logs, contact databases, and activity summaries, and support media training and incident management.
- Collaborate across communications disciplines and ensure adherence to safety processes and protocols.

About you:

- Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field, with proven experience in media relations, communications, marketing, or journalism.
- Strong track record of identifying and generating positive news stories, preparing effective media materials (e.g., releases, speeches), and successfully preparing spokespeople for interviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce impactful media content and provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders.

This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading
