
Philanthropy Manager

St Michael's Grammar School is seeking a passionate Philanthropy Manager to join our Advancement Team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the School's vision by building a sustainable major gifts program to enable the School to achieve its Philanthropic goals. Initially there will be a particular focus on major gifts for identified key building projects. Philanthropy Manager is a full-time ongoing opportunity.
About the Role
Working with the Director of Advancement, you will be responsible for:
- identifying existing donors who are prospective major donors, and new prospects.
- managing and cultivating relationships with prospects.
- engaging with prospects to determine likely areas of philanthropic interest and matching those interests to the School's strategic intent.
- actively soliciting and securing high level gifts in conjunction with key Leadership staff and Board members.
This role includes some after-hours and weekend work due to the nature of donor engagement.
About You
You are a confident relationship-builder with:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, (ideally with a focus in education), or be able to exhibit a high degree of aptitude, as a fundraising professional.
- demonstrated success designing and implementing major donor and bequest fundraising strategies to secure results.
- strong strategic thinking and program development skills
- expertise in CRM systems, prospect research, and wealth screening tools
- excellent communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills
- a tertiary qualification in fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field
- a current (or willingness to obtain) Employee Working with Children Check and recent National Police Check
