**About the Organisation**:
The NORTH Foundation is proud to be the official charity for the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) which includes Royal North Shore, Ryde and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai hospitals, the oldest medical research institute in NSW, the Kolling Institute and Australia’s first adolescent and young adult hospice in Manly.
**About the Role**:
The Community Engagement Officer will be focused on increasing awareness of the NORTH Foundation across the Northern Sydney Local Health District and supporting community fundraisers, with the aim of positioning the NORTH Foundation as a charity of choice within the community.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this new role will join a growing and collaborative team. It's an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to take charge in creating new relationships with community fundraisers, businesses and organisations to increase NORTH's presence within the local community. This role will also collaborate closely with the philanthropy team.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate the delivery of community engagement strategies that promote the NORTH Foundation
- Support our community fundraisers with their activities and grow our portfolio
- Proactively position us as a leader in community engagement and represent the NORTH Foundation at fundraising events
- Influence effective community engagement by researching and identifying the needs of community groups and understanding our target audiences
- Identify opportunities for volunteering
- Provide advice to management on the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and initiatives
- Build relationships with external parties including but not limited to RSL clubs, rotary clubs, local businesses and identify opportunities for partnerships that progress the NORTH Foundation towards its goals
- Increase awareness of the NORTH Foundation across the Northern Sydney Local Health District
- Other duties as assigned by the Director or Marketing and Communications of the NORTH Foundation.
**Skills & Experience**
- Excellent time management, administrative and organisational skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, report back and adapt to changing circumstances
- Experience in community fundraising or engagement either for a charity or in an outreach/sales role
- Exceptional communication skills, self-motivated and eager to represent your organisation
- Ability to build rapport with people from different backgrounds and community groups
- Ability to work collaboratively and with a high level of flexibility both in a team and independently, in an environment with changing demands
- Capacity to travel as needed across the Northern Sydney Local Health District
- Experience working with a CRM database and platforms (ThankQ, Raisely, Salesforce)
- A combination of the personal sensitivity, maturity of approach and that is needed when working with prospective donors
- Self-confidence, enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude.
