Your Opportunity:

This is a hands-on position that provides leadership, support, and direction to the Operations Teams within the factory at the Erskine Park. Responsible for safety, production planning, manufacturing efficiency, quality and performance in collaboration with Tyrecycle's Operations, Collections and Sales Teams.

The key objectives of this role are to:

  • Drive a culture of safety through leadership, role modelling and compliance to safety systems
  • Manage the operations/manufacturing team through strong and robust people management processes and effective communication
  • Drive and track plant performance (uptime, downtime, throughput, efficiency) and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate shift labour scheduling and overtime
  • Manage and monitor production plans, shift handovers, and reporting systems to maintain efficiency
  • Drive improvement in quality standards across the site, ensuring manufactured products meet all quality standards and specifications
  • Identify business risks with recommendations to eliminate / mitigate
  • Assist with implementation of Lean Manufacturing methodologies including but not limited to 5S, Daily Operations Management process, Visual Management, teamwork, and autonomous maintenance
  • Coordinate export container management, including daily planning, tracking, and documentation

About You:

  • Proven leadership and people management experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Sound understanding of mechanical equipment and safety and environmental aspects of manufacturing
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
  • Desire to challenge existing processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement
  • Strong ability to problem solve and ability to think creatively
  • Excellent work ethic and values the importance of producing quality products
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in Export Container management through tracking and planning, highly regarded
  • Valid Forklift licence and/or mobile plant tickets, highly regarded
