Aline Australasia is an established, Australian-owned company that has been operating since 1994. We specialise in the sales, service, and manufacturing of pumping and water supply systems for the Fire and Commercial Building service sectors.
About the Position
Based at our Prestons facility in NSW, the Manufacturing Manager is a senior site management role responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations and driving improvements across production. This role is accountable for meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, managing costs, and ensuring a safe and efficient workplace. The Manufacturing Manager works closely with line leaders and other departments to ensure customer requirements are met and production runs smoothly, while building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Take accountability for the financial performance of the manufacturing function, including people utilisation, material usage, and production efficiency.
- Monitor key metrics such as cost per unit, yield, scrap/waste, rework, and downtime.
- Review production variances and implement corrective actions where required.
- Oversee production planning and resource allocation to meet forecasts and customer demand.
- Work with line leaders to develop a resilient and scalable production facility.
- Support and guide line leaders to take initiative and act with accountability.
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering, recruitment, training, and performance reviews.
- Foster a positive team culture built on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with WHSE standards and provide visible safety leadership.
- Support process improvements such as lean, waste reduction, and automation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support solutions to improve efficiency.
- Help specify and implement new machinery, tools, and processes.
- Ensure products meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, service, and sales teams to align production with business needs.
Education, Experience and Skills
Education
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (preferred but not essential).
Trade background or equivalent industry experience will be highly regarded.
Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement (advantageous but not required).
Experience
At least 5 years' experience in a production or manufacturing management role.
Proven ability to manage output, costs, and efficiency targets.
Experience supervising or mentoring team leaders/supervisors.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, process improvement, or automation.
Understanding of WHSE, compliance, and quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in pumps, water systems, or similar industrial products (desirable but not essential).
Skills
Strong problem-solving and practical decision-making skills.
Good financial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and track KPIs.
Organised, with strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Clear communicator who can build relationships across teams and departments.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic ERP/manufacturing systems.
