YGF Manufacturing is an end-to-end food, beverage, and supplement product development and manufacturing consultancy. We are currently 2 years old, growing fast and looking for a BDM/AE to come on and own the entire sales process alongside the Founder. We partner with entrepreneurs, startups, and established brands to take ideas from concept to market-ready products efficiently and compliantly, maintaining uncompromising quality. Our expert team handles the entire journey—from formulation, ingredient sourcing, and regulatory (FSANZ/TGA) compliance to packaging, manufacturing, and logistics. By leveraging a trusted network of manufacturing partners and suppliers, we streamline production without requiring clients to invest in their own facilities. Our approach combines science, creativity, and commercial strategy to deliver innovative, great-tasting products that scale and win in market.
Role Description
This is a full-time Business Development Manager (Inbound Closer) role based in Sydney, NSW (hybrid). We're also open to strong candidates located elsewhere in Australia who can operate within AEST hours.
You'll take inbound leads only (no outbound required initially) from first contact through structured discovery, solution scoping, pricing, proposal, negotiation, and closed deposit—then hand off cleanly to our delivery team. You'll collaborate with our product development and operations teams to shape solutions that meet client needs, maintain rigorous CRM hygiene, and provide accurate forecasting. As we scale, the role may expand to include light outbound/partner activity.
Primary KPIs:
- Close rate on deposits (qualified opportunities → paid deposit)
- Close rate on full projects (proposal → signed & paid)
Responsibilities include:
- Run timely first responses during agreed AEST hours; conduct consultative discovery (goals, product type, budget, timeline, decision process, regulatory considerations).
- Translate discovery into scoped solutions, pricing guardrails, and clear proposals/SOWs; manage stakeholder questions and objections.
- Negotiate commercial terms within policy; secure deposits and kick-off commitments.
- Maintain accurate stages, notes, and next steps in a CRM; deliver weekly pipeline/forecast updates.
- Collaborate with product development and manufacturing teams, both on and off shore.
- Represent YGF at selected industry events/webinars.
Qualifications
- Proven BDM/AE experience 3+ years closing B2B services or CPG/manufacturing projects, with measurable success converting inbound demand.
- Strength in consultative discovery, scoping, proposals, pricing, negotiation, and closing projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; confident meeting facilitation and objection handling.
- Proficiency with CRM and Project Management Tools; disciplined pipeline hygiene and forecasting.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technical/regulatory teams; familiarity with FSANZ/TGA or CPG manufacturing workflows is a plus.
- Experience within the food, beverage, or neutraceutical spaces are desired
- Operates reliably within AEST business hours; based in Sydney (preferred) or elsewhere in Australia with strong remote setup.
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing or equivalent experience is valued but not essential.
