We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Boarding to lead our vibrant residential community. This senior and strategic leadership position provides the opportunity to lead and shape a values-based, inclusive and nurturing environment for our Boarding students, which is emotionally safe, inclusive and fosters a strong sense of belonging. You will be passionate about student wellbeing and pastoral care and build a caring and collaborative team of support staff who create a home-away-from-home environment for our girls.

In addition, you will oversee the operational, strategic and pastoral activities of the Boarding House, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance and well-being for all Boarders. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including academic staff, parents, service providers and scholarship organisations such as Yalari and Madalah.

To succeed in this role you will possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education, Health, Psychology or a related field

  • Proven leadership experience in student wellbeing and pastoral care in a residential setting

  • Strong ability to inspire and manage a diverse team of Boarding support staff

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and relationship building capabilities

  • A proactive and visible presence to building meaningful connections with students, families and staff

  • An understanding of issues associated with indigenous, regional and international student care

  • A deep empathy and understanding of the needs of adolescent girls in a residential environment

  • Business acumen and a strong appreciation of operational and compliance requirements of the role

  • Flexibility to work out of hours and weekends as required
