We are seeking an experienced
Packet Core Engineer
with strong expertise in both
4G Evolved Packet Core (EPC)
and
5G Core (5GC)
technologies. You will play a critical role in the design, integration, and support of core network infrastructure, working in a complex multi-vendor environment to ensure service reliability, scalability, and readiness for next-generation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and optimise
    4G EPC elements
    : MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, HSS, ePDG, AAA.
  • Design, configure, and optimise
    5G Core elements
    : AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, UDM, AUSF, NRF, NSSF, NEF.
  • Support
    interoperability and migration
    between EPC and 5GC.
  • Troubleshoot complex signalling and user-plane issues (Diameter, GTP-C/U, SCTP, SIP, HTTP/2).
  • Ensure seamless service delivery for
    VoLTE, VoNR, and IMS
    solutions.
  • Monitor and optimise network KPIs, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and vendor teams for upgrades, new feature deployments, and incident resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation (designs, runbooks, change procedures).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field
    .
  • 5+ years
    of proven packet core experience across
    4G and 5G networks
    .
  • In-depth understanding of:
  • 4G EPC architecture
    (MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, HSS).
  • 5GC service-based architecture
    (AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, UDM, AUSF).
  • Familiarity with
    3GPP standards (LTE & 5G NR)
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    multi-vendor environments
    (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Cisco, etc.).
  • Strong IP networking background (routing, switching, MPLS, QoS, firewalls, DNS/DHCP).
  • Experience with
    cloud-native core platforms
    (VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Strong troubleshooting with tools such as
    Wireshark, probes, and monitoring systems
    .
