Taxation Accountant

Cadwallader Marinucci Veal & Co, an established accounting firm conveniently located in Essendon, is seeking a senior Taxation Accountant to join its dynamic team.

The role

Reporting to the partners, your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • delivering high-quality tax and business advisory services to a diverse client base.
  • preparing BAS and financial statements, income tax returns for all entities including companies, trusts, SMSF, partnerships and individuals and other statutory compliance.
  • developing and maintaining strong client relationships as a primary contact.
  • liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies.
  • training, mentoring and developing junior staff and accountants.
  • working collaboratively with the partners and other accountants contributing to business projects and initiatives.

What you will need

This position will suit a motivated accountant with a minimum of 5 years' experience within an Australian accounting practice. You will have a Business or Commerce Degree (majoring in Accounting) and have completed your CA or CPA qualification.  You will demonstrate strong working knowledge of taxation legislation and accounting principles.

You will be able to work autonomously with strong time management skills, a high attention to detail and have a desire to continually develop and learn. You will be able to foster and maintain strong client relationships, offer strong communication and interpersonal skills and have a positive mindset where you will enjoy the team and the work.

Familiarity with accounting software such as BGL and Handisoft is essential.
