Job Title: Client Advisor for Business Services and Taxation

Job Summary:

The Client Advisor for Business Services and Taxation is responsible for managing complex client assignments in the areas of business services and taxation. This role involves technical proficiency, client interaction, and mentoring junior staff.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in tax-related reconciliations (Income Tax, GST, FBT, CGT)
  • Experience in statutory compliance tasks for various entities
  • Ability to manage client bookkeeping tasks
  • Project and workflow management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • Complete statutory compliance tasks for individuals, trusts, companies, etc.
  • Perform tax-related reconciliations (Income Tax, GST, FBT, CGT)
  • Assist in complex compliance work and client bookkeeping tasks
  • Ensure timely completion of internal and client work
  • Monitor work in progress (WIP) and manage billing for clients
  • Identify risks and value-add opportunities for clients
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant tax regimes and implications for entity structures

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; progressing towards CA or CPA certification
  • Experience: Minimum 18 months in public practice accounting or a relevant industry with a background in business services and taxation
  • Skills: Proficiency in Xero, BGL (Simple Fund and CAS) is advantageous; strong attention to detail; client service skills; and excellent communication abilities
  • Behavioural Traits: High energy, team-orientated, positive attitude, strong numerical skills, and commitment to professional standards
