VALE Partners are working alongside an emerging start-up to find a Senior Data Engineer to join their team. This is a crucial, product-facing role where your work will form the foundation for the real-time analytics and insights customers rely on.

The Opportunity: This is a key engineering role where you will be responsible for building and maintaining integrations with the external systems that customers use. You'll ensure data flows reliably into the platform and will be focused on refactoring existing pipelines to transition towards near real-time data streaming.

You'll contribute by:

  • Iterating on the architecture of current data ingestion pipelines.
  • Designing and implementing new ingestion pipelines using Python and SQL.
  • Transitioning from scheduled/batch syncs to real-time ingestion.
  • Implementing reliable data validation and cleaning.
  • Maintaining existing job orchestration, ingestion pods, and data lake storage.

You'll have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering roles, ideally in fast-paced or high-growth environments.
  • Extensive experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
  • Excellence in Python for transformation scripts and pipeline orchestration.
  • Solid understanding of event-driven ingestion.
  • Experience with relational databases and modeling (PostgreSQL).
