GTE is a not-for-profit, equal opportunity employer who has been committed to the facilitation of training and employment opportunities through Apprenticeships and Traineeships in the Limestone Coast and Upper South East for over 40 years.  We are seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our team in the role of Field Officer reporting directly to the Field Operations Manager.  This full-time position is located in our Naracoorte office and involves regional travel to Bordertown, Robe, Penola and Kingston.  In-office hours will involve providing high quality face-to-face customer service for any walk-in enquiries.

The position will require the support and monitoring of Apprentices and Trainees in a variety of vocations including construction, hospitality, agriculture, automotive and administration.

The successful applicant will:

· Facilitate and monitor the training, employment and workplace safety of our Apprentices and Trainees.

· Liaise with Host Employers and facilitate recruitment processes for filling Apprentice and Trainee vacancies.

· Communicate effectively between Apprentices, Trainees, Host Employers and Nominated Training Organisations.

· Promote GTE services throughout the Limestone Coast and Upper South East region.

Required skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to autonomously manage all aspects of field operations, from scheduling to client communication and on-site problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of people, whilst actively listening, building trust, and resolving issues with a positive and professional demeanour.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel is essential.
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising apprentices and trainees is highly desirable.
  • Prior industry knowledge and a network of professional contacts are highly desirable.
