About the Opportunity
Jobwire is a national recruitment agency currently seeking an experienced IT Support Officer to join one of our key clients on a permanent basis. Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years of IT support experience.
About the Role
The IT Support Officer will be responsible for maintaining IT systems and assets, providing technical support, managing upgrades and fixes, and assisting with user training as required. The position requires solid technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networks, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
You will play a key role in resolving support requests, configuring systems, and maintaining network stability, while also liaising with internal teams and external vendors (local and international).
Key ResponsibilitiesIT Maintenance & Support
- Provisioning, setup, and disposal of IT equipment.
- Provide end-user support and troubleshooting.
- Install and maintain security software (e.g., PCPlus, Symantec).
- Manage the employee exit process, including data backup and access removal.
- Monitor and maintain external network connections.
- Support cloud-based systems and applications.
- Manage data and SIP networks.
- Support PABX systems (Avaya).
- Maintain and manage servers (e.g., AD, VM, Symantec, print servers).
- Manage print services and security.
- Configure routers, switches, accelerators, and other network devices.
- Support SD-WAN, Wi-Fi controllers, and WAP devices.
- Provide email system and mailbox support.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Purchase IT-related equipment, consumables, and services.
- Process IT-related payments and accruals in coordination with Finance.
- Manage IT assets and fixed asset registers.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure smooth IT operations.
Education
- TAFE or tertiary qualification in information technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Office 2010–2016) and server environments (VM, AD, Windows Server 2019).
- Solid networking knowledge and familiarity with communication protocols.
- Intermediate-level networking skills are required for this role.
- Experience managing IT assets and print solutions.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Language Requirement
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Must be an Australian citizen / resident for this position.
