VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Casual role for an estimated 20 hours per week for six weeks, with additional hours during major event periods. Availability on select event weekends, with early morning starts required.

$33.85 per hour + super

Hybrid workplace options – i.e. flexibility to work at home some of the time.

About Us

The South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting runners and providing running events across South Australia. With a head office located in the Adelaide CBD, the club has 600+ members, organises nine high level running events across the calendar year and maintains running groups across the Adelaide Metro Area.

The Role

Are you a seeking a short-term role to gain experience and make a real impact in the sporting sector? We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator that will play a key role in ensuring SARRC events and activities run smoothly by overseeing our volunteer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

·       Assign roles and responsibilities to volunteers.

·       Communicate regularly with volunteers regarding upcoming opportunities, responsibilities, and recognition.

·       Provide orientation and training to new volunteers, ensuring they understand expectations and safety procedures.

·       Ensure volunteers are scheduled and briefed appropriately for their roles.

·       Act as a point of contact for volunteers on event days, addressing questions and resolving issues.

About You

·       You have strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

·       You have confidence in managing logistics and volunteer welfare in a fast-paced environment.

·       You have familiarity with basic safety and risk management principles.

·       You have competency with digital tools for communication, scheduling, and record-keeping.

·       You have experience in volunteer coordination, event management, or risk management (preferred).

·       You have a background or strong interest in running, fitness, or community engagement will be highly regarded (preferred).
