As the Manager, School Operations within the Medical School, you'll play a pivotal role in leading key operational functions and delivering high-level administrative support under the direction of the School Manager. This is an opportunity to contribute to projects that matter—supporting governance processes, operational planning, and the management of people, finances and infrastructure to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the School.

Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and optimise school operations, overseeing administration, planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and workforce management across the Teaching and Learning Portfolios and Mayne Academies.
Provide strategic operational and policy advice to senior staff, ensuring sound governance, financial management, and the delivery of efficient business systems and processes.
Drive organisational effectiveness by leading projects, managing change initiatives, refining academic workload models, and delivering high-quality reports and briefings to support informed decision-making.
Foster a high-performing team and stakeholder network, providing strong leadership to administrative staff, maintaining effective communication channels, and cultivating productive relationships across the School and University.

Salary packaging options
Postgraduate qualifications or progress toward postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant university experience; or management expertise and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Proven experience in operations management or business administration, preferably in an academic or educational setting.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional organisational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
Experience with financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Knowledge of governance, policy frameworks, and compliance in a university or educational environment.
Ability to manage change initiatives and improve operational processes.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check.
