Ironstone specialises in civil and building packages, delivering projects across Decarbonisation, Minor Works Packages, and external mining and government projects. The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of civil and building projects within the mining and infrastructure sector. This role will oversee project teams, subcontractors, budgets, and schedules to ensure works are completed to client expectations, safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple civil and building projects on mining sites.
- Oversee project planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Ensure compliance with all contractual, quality, safety, and environmental obligations.
Financial & Commercial Management
Develop and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
- Manage contract administration, progress claims, and variations.
Liaise with clients and subcontractors on financial and contractual matters.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead site-based teams and coordinate with engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Foster a positive, safety-first culture aligned with Ironstone's values and Indigenous engagement principles.
Mentor emerging Indigenous staff and trainees as part of the company's workforce development initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Represent Ironstone Australia professionally in all client interactions and project meetings.
Ensure clear communication across all project phases and stakeholders.
Safety, Quality, and Environment
Champion Ironstone's commitment to zero harm and sustainable construction practices.
- Ensure all projects comply with WHS, environmental, and quality management systems.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience managing civil and building projects in the mining sector.
- Proven track record delivering projects ranging from $5M–$50M.
- Strong understanding of contract law, project controls, and procurement processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Experience with Indigenous engagement strategies and community participation programs.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Familiarity with mining client systems (e.g., Fortescue, Rio Tinto, BHP).
