We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team, overseeing and managing various aspects of our construction and demolition projects.
About the role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects. This position is based in our Sydney office and primarily involves managing project timelines, budgets, and tendering processes. You will work closely with our skilled team, clients, and contractors to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Project Management: Developing, organising and reviewing building plans
- Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets and formulating cost estimates based on equipment, materials and labour requirements.
- Client Communication: Maintain excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing their concerns.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with on-site teams, subcontractors, and support staff to ensure seamless project execution.
- Authority Coordination and Liaison: Coordinating and Liaison closely with external authority stakeholders to ensure appropriate and relevant documents are submitted for Development Application (DA) or Complying Development Certificates (CDC) or Construction Certificates (CC).
- Quality Control: Ensure projects meet or exceed quality and safety standards and comply with building legislations.
- Problem Solving: Identify risks and resolve project-related issues and challenges as they arise.
- Monitoring: Monitoring the progress of the project and ascertain whether phases of the construction process follow building plans and project deadlines
Skills and Experience:
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate design into the construction process.
- Manage design development, ensuring alignment with project specifications and construction requirements.
- Lead the coordination of design activities, providing input into construction planning and execution.
- Oversee the creation of design documentation and ensure its integration with construction documentation.
- Foster effective communication channels between design teams and construction personnel.
Selection criteria
- Degree qualification in either, Building Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in the construction management sector.
- Desirable but not essential, experience in role as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, and design coordination.
- Proficient in relevant design software, construction documentation, and project management tools.
- Previous experience with commercial/industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, tools, and software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
