Our client, a large complex organisation within the tertiary education sector, are currently seeking a Release Manager for their Integrated Timesheets Project.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Reporting to the Project Manager, the role is responsible for managing the technical and business release of a new timesheet system implementation in higher education. The role is responsible for all aspects of release management covering readiness reporting (go/no go decision making), technical cut over, pilot and a phased business release including hyper care.
- Complete Transition to Operations deliverables for operationalisation of the new system.
- Manage technical releases into DEV/TEST/PROD environments throughout testing and release
- Craft, Develop and execute a Cut Over plan for technical go live including: Prepare readiness checklist status reporting and artefacts to inform Project Steering Group go/no decisions, Prepare Change Advisory Board (CAB) deliverables for endorsement of technical release windows and Prepare and execute cut over checklists (managing cut over activities) including production validation testing and reporting of cut over gates
- Lead co-ordination across departments including IT, HR, multiple external vendors to ensure alignment and readiness to execute
- Engage cutover resources – vendor and internal for tech deployment/PVT incl resource confirmation, briefings, access etc.
- Prepare and execute Pilot Release (mini version of release) based on agreed pilot approach
Required Skills:
- Specific domain knowledge, T&A (Time & Attendance), HCM and Payroll
- Demonstrated experience in developing artifacts for cut overs, such as cut over plans, roll back plans, business readiness documents, CAB Go/No Go decision packs
- Ability to work with Change Manager, technical teams, vendors, integration teams (internal and external) co -ordinate and run business readiness, CAB attendance, cut over, Hypercare meetings and transition to Ops activities.
- Proven experience in Release management, with experience in Time and Attendance or Workforce Management
- Strong transition management background with multi stakeholder integration
- Strong experience in managing project schedules, detailed cut over plans, back out plans etc
- Excellent stakeholder management, communications, and leadership skills
- Excellent problems solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail

- Prefer experience in higher education
