The Opportunity

Are you a persuasive communicator who enjoys shaping policy and influencing outcomes? We are representing a dynamic organisation seeking a Government Relations Manager to lead engagement with government, regulators, and industry associations. This is a hands‑on role where you will track policy developments, align them to business strategy, and advocate for outcomes that support growth, compliance, and innovation.

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with federal, state and local government officials, regulators, and advisors
  • Monitor and interpret emerging legislation, policy, and regulatory frameworks
  • Develop clear and influential briefing papers, submissions, and advocacy material
  • Represent the organisation in industry forums, consultations, and working groups
  • Draft speeches, talking points and briefing notes for senior leaders engaging with government
  • Identify and foster partnerships with industry associations and advocacy groups
  • Support media and public affairs activities when government relations is in focus
  • Maintain accurate records of government engagement and ensure full compliance with disclosure obligations

About You

  • Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law or a related discipline (Master's desirable)
  • 5+ years' government relations, policy, or advisory experience
  • Strong understanding of parliamentary, regulatory and policy processes
  • Demonstrated success influencing policy outcomes and stakeholder decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a clear, persuasive style
  • High professional integrity, discretion and ability to manage sensitive issues
