Health Clinician – Youth Drug & Alcohol

Mental Health Drug & Alcohol - Bloomfield

About the role

The Health Clinician is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for coordinating the recovery of people and providing expert clinical services in collaboration with consumers, carers and other care providers, using an integrated and person centred approach. The key skills are to have an interest in providing mental health care in the community.

The WNSWLHD Youth Drug & Alcohol program is an assertive outreach service that will provide youth focused responses and treatment options. The program works with those aged 12-25 experiencing issues with alcohol and other drug use, and their families/carers. The program aims to reduce harm by taking a multi-disciplinary and evidence-based approach. This program will focus on a holistic, trauma–informed, culturally safe and responsive service delivery model.

Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to each individual's needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person's journey to support the young person and their family.

The most rewarding aspects of this role is being able to work within the community, meeting new patients and seeing positive outcomes for them from interventions that are put in place. The successful applicant would need to have good communication skills to be able to network with other services within the community.

You'll work within a collaborative team that enables a culture of support. We are the team enriching health in millions of ways every day. We listen to understand, not label. We are an inclusive and committed team where staff are encouraged to bring their whole self to work. We are a team as diverse as the vibrant communities we support.

Be part of the vibrant and professional team improving and enriching the health of our communities in millions of ways every day.
