About the Role
Sanwell Fire Protection, part of the Sanwell Group of Companies, is a leader in hydraulic and fire services within the commercial and industrial construction sector.
We are seeking an experienced Fire System Designer with a strong background in wet fire protection to join our growing team. Based in Perth, this role will see you designing, documenting, and coordinating fire services for a wide range of landmark projects.
You'll work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to deliver efficient, cost-effective designs that meet Australian Standards, the National Construction Code, and local authority requirements.
What You'll Do
- Design, document, and coordinate fire services for projects across WA.
- Collaborate with estimators to ensure budgets and cost estimates reflect practical design solutions.
- Produce high-quality design drawings that support efficient on-site installation
- Perform hydraulic calculations.
- Provide and adopt value engineering and performance solutions.
- Liaise with site and project teams to optimise buildability and efficiency.
- Support and mentor other design/drafting staff within the Group.
- Attend project meetings and prepare reports for authority submissions.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in wet fire protection system design.
- Sound knowledge of sprinklers, hydrants, and fire engineering principles.
- Strong grasp of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and local authority requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in hydraulic calculations.
- Ability to interpret fire engineering reports.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with an appetite for ongoing learning.
