About the RoleReporting to a Superintendent within the Rail Operations team your duties will include:
Lead and develop a high performing operations team who, under your leadership are responsible for ensuring the safe execution of Rail Operations activities for the WAIO Supply ChainEnsure compliance to safe operating practices aligned to the Rail Safety National Law and our Rail Rule BookSupport the delivery of the business plan through:An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable developmentManage team performance and continue to drive a positive improvement culture with a focus on safety, empowerment and efficiencyCommunicate a clear and exciting vision for the future of Rail Operations including the context for change to build understanding and commitment.Develop and maintain the team's technical capabilities and knowledge within the team.
We encourage diverse and indigenous candidates to apply and there are Residential and FIFO options available. Residential roster is working 3 days on, 3 nights on and 6 days off while the FIFO roster is working 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
As the successful candidate it is likely you will possess the following:
Are a great people leaderPrevious experience in leading and coaching a team to achieve results safely through positive engagement and continuous improvementDemonstrated Rail Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain knowledge or similar experience will be viewed favourablyExperience developing and reviewing operational practices and methodologiesGood communication, interpersonal and people management skills, ensuring that team members feel respected and engaged around issues affecting themselves and their workplaceAbility to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to lead complex and sustainable changeAbility to effectively prioritise and manage your time effectivelyExercise sound judgement with good analytical and problem solving skillsYou enjoy identifying opportunities for improvement and proactively solving themComputer literacy with Microsoft suite and SAP (desirable)About Our Process
