We're seeking a Lead Environmental & Heritage Specialist for a Mining & Metals Project, bringing expertise in environmental planning, heritage management, and regulatory compliance. You'll be a go to advisor, mentor, and problem solver, ensuring our projects meet the highest environmental and heritage standards.

The What
Key responsibilities
Environmental & Approvals

  • Provide specialist advice to support project regulatory approvals.
  • Prepare environmental impact assessments, management plans, and planning documents in line with client requirements.
  • Submit approval requests for ground disturbance and construction activities in consultation with the approvals team.
  • Develop GIS mapping, environmental modelling, and disturbance permit plans to align with internal clearing limits and milestones.
  • Integrate environmental requirements into process plant and infrastructure design.
  • Support HSEQ systems, including works approvals, design criteria reviews, and training.
  • Lead and mentor junior environmental staff.
  • Assess risks (spills, contamination, habitat disruption) and develop contingency plans.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage environmental scope, budget, scheduling, and contractor coordination.

Heritage

  • Manage requests impacting heritage sites and ensure accurate digital datasets.
  • Ensure heritage considerations are integrated into all design and permitting processes.
  • Provide reports, spatial data, GIS layers, and coordinate with the client heritage team.
