THE ROLE

Due to internal movement, we are now seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join the operations team and manage a range of transport activities across the state.

Reporting to the State Operations Manager, this role requires an experienced TRANSPORT PLANNERwith strong communication skills to manage all aspects of the transportation activities.

These activities will include but not be limited to:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute daily load and route schedules
  • Allocate loads and routes to approved contractors
  • Direct contractors in their execution of the daily load and route plan
  • Ensure predetermined daily load allocations to fleet contractors are met
  • Ensure permanently placed fleet vehicles are on site
  • Take responsibility for the allocation of permanently placed fleet vehicles
  • Mange the workflow to the yard tractor drivers
  • Schedule next day deliveries into loads and routes
  • Communicate resolution issues with contractual clients and other customers
  • Control and monitor daily and weekly revenue streams
  • Complete all KPI reports (financial and productivity) as required
  • Participate in company and contractor meetings
  • Be available as after-hours contact for unfinished tasks
  • Ensure fleet maintenance and service schedules are adhered to
  • Liaise with other members of the management and operations team
  • Allocate all loads and routes to approved contractors
  • Allocate contractors (or their drivers) load routes allocations for the next day – and confirm
  • Ensure permanent fleet vehicles allocation client locations
  • Site visits for collection/delivery of freight documentation
  • Control and monitor daily and weekly revenue streams

Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - (Monday to Friday) ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong ability to follow processes and procedures
  • Intimate knowledge of the geographical layout and road system in the Brisbane area
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Transport Planner Experience

  • Strong cost control and management skills
  • Manage and improve the company/contractor Ability to attend to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Intermediate to excellent computer literacy with strong numerical and literacy skills
  • Excellent time management and self-discipline
  • Confident practical leadership and supervisory skill
  • High problem resolution skills ability with decisive decision making
  • Strong people management skills
  • High abilities relationship
